Kohli hits 34th ODI Hundred, makes it 3-0 for India

In the third ODI, Kohli overpowered South African bowlers with unbelievable strokes as his unbeaten century (160 not out) helped India reach 303/6 in 50 overs. Both the bowlers have been in fantastic form so far in their debut tour of South Africa.

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar played for India for 24 long years and was given the status of demigod and rightly so, but he wasn't a player who could scare the daylight out of the opposition in ODI cricket, at least. South Africa will hope they can shift the momentum by winning the 4th ODI and change the tide of the tournament in their favour. In addition, his ODI average in South Africa stands at 12.10 (lowest considering 10 matches or more). No-one does. And he deserved better than to be dragged out to pretend he did. Du Plessis hit a century in the first game before being injured but JP Duminy, with 51 in the third game in Cape Town, is the only other South African to have made a half-century.

Out of the 13 times he was dismissed previous year, spinners got him six times and he was run out once trying to up the scoring against India in the Champions Trophy.

But Duminy has been shot in this movie before‚ so he had a go.

The last five wickets fell for the addition of just 50 with Chahal and Kuldeep inflicting the damage. "We need to find a way to get that right". It doesn't matter what inputs he's got, it's always good.

"Yes, we have game plans and they've bowled well enough not to give us the balls to play in our game plan". Simple as that, we've just got to be better. Biggest positive is we are 3-0 up, so there's no way we can lose this series now.

"I guess the way forward is to identify our strengths and play to our strengths".

"There was no other reason". Or there should be a plan. "And we are going to imbibe the culture and be a part of this country". "The pitch usually speeds up at night and obviously their spinners outdid us on that pitch".

"I think every cricketer has been through this at some point in their career". With their kind of an attack, you had to adjust your game.

Captain E Markham chose to do something different and after winning the toss asked India to bat. AB De Villiers, Faf Du Plessis, and Quinton De Kock have been ruled out owing to their injuries.

How was the youngster holding up?

"It's all about confidence", she said. This was a time to reassess the target, to go for 300 and not end up with 250 while trying to go for 350. India have quickly settled into such well-oiled rhythm that most of the team enjoyed a day off on Friday, the eve of the match, with only Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya turning up for practice. We are a team and the team has not played well - it's not that he hasn't led well. "So hats off to them", the captain said.
