That's all commentator Tara Lipinski could say as she watched the United States' Mirai Nagasu land the triple axel during the ladies' free skate on Sunday.

Olympic Athletes from Russia's Alina Zagitova rounded out the group and completed a solid, strong performance that will give her teammates a run for their money. They won gold in ice dance in 2010, plus a team event silver and an ice dance silver four years ago in Sochi.

Nagasu is only the third American female skater to ever land the move, which involves a forward takeoff and three-and-a-half mid-air rotations, in competition. The feat drew huge cheers from the crowd at the Gangneung Ice Arena.

She also became just the second American woman to land the jump in worldwide competition, and the first do so in almost 27 years - since Tonya Harding landed a triple axel at the 1991 World Championships. The PyeongChang Olympics are just the second Games to include a team event in figure skating.

In the men's free skate portion, Adam Rippon needed to hold off Italy to put a stranglehold on bronze and Rippon got the job done. Men's figure skating continues on Thursday, February 15 with the men's short program.

"We wanted to make sure one of us would beat the Russians in our events, and I'm so honored to have done it", Chan said. Looking for breaking news, videos, Olympic and Paralympic team bios all at your fingertips?
