A mother found her 2-year-old daughter "frozen" Friday on the family's front porch, according to police.
The mother later told investigators that she had gone out with her 4-year-old son, leaving Wynter with the child's father, according to a statement from police. Police arrived and took her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.
The Akron Police Department told of the incident happening at the Willow Run Apartments on Doty Drive.
The mother was gone from the house for about two hours and the father, who works a night shift job, fell asleep.
Police said the mother discovered the girl outside and frantically called 911.
The little girl wasn't wearing a hat, coat or gloves.
The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office identified the young girl as Wynter Parker and will conduct an autopsy Monday to determine her cause of death.More news: Scottsdale polices seek for suspect after man shot in head

The medical examiner's office said the toddler suffered severe hypothermia, but an official cause of death has not yet been determined.
"I cried [when I found out what happened] because I just don't understand how a 2-year-old could be outside and you not know".
"I've had to take the baby home because she'll be outside playing.it was a few times that I had to take both of her kids home", Lucas said.
Neighbors say they would occasionally hear people arguing outside of the apartment. "It was freezing and that was my biggest worry when the cops came", Lucas said.
Crystal Lucas, a neighbor who spoke with KTRK, said she is devastated by the news and wants to know how the toddler was left outside in the first place.
No one answered the door when Fox 8 went to the apartment.
Adding, 'It's just a very sad situation.
