UFC 220 ceremonial weigh-ins highlight: Stipe Miocic, Francis Ngannou stay cool


Stipe Miocic defends his heavyweight title against top-ranked challenger Francis Ngannou, while Daniel Cormier puts his light heavyweight belt up against power-punching Volkan Oezdemir. Meanwhile, Daniel Cormier defends his light heavyweight title against Volkan Oezdemir.

In recent years, the heavyweight belt has changed hands quite a bit, though Miocic has held onto it through two defenses thus far. The Cleveland-based fighter has earned five straight stoppage victories including wins over former champions Junior dos Santos, Fabricio Werdum and Andrei Arlovski.

The main card will be broadcast at 8 p.m. Saturday on pay-per-view.

Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic faced off with the physically imposing Francis Ngannou ahead of their main event on Saturday night. Ngannou is 11-1 as a professional, and his knockout of Overeem was one of the biggest the sport has seen.

Both Poirier and Gaethje are coming off Fight of the Night efforts last Fall, Poirier stopping Anthony Pettis in three rounds while Gaethje lost a hard-fought bout to Eddie Alvarez. Prelims will be shown on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
