Taika Waititi, Not Chris Hemsworth, Is The Star Of This 'Thor

So it was helpful that Hemsworth rang in the New Year in Australia with his family and director Taika Waititi - his partner-in-crime in redefining the Thor character so brilliantly in the critically acclaimed Ragnarok.

Speaking with USA Today, Hemsworth revealed that his time in Ragnarok with Waititi was one of the most enjoyable creative partnerships he had taken part in.

The latest film in the franchise, Thor Ragnarok, included one of the newly crowned Asgardian king and Loki aboard their refugee ship, on the way to Earth. That absolutely shined through in the finished film, and of course Waititi is a fantastic filmmaker to boot, but honestly I'd also watched an entire spinoff focused on the adventures of Korg if it meant we got to see more of Waititi in front of the camera. We could do this and this.

"It's definitely the most light-hearted, fun set I've been on", offers Hemsworth. He also added that Waititi and the Russo brothers let him reinvent Thor to the point that the character itself has evolved. Hemsworth's contract with Marvel Studios ends with Avengers 4, which he just completed.

Chris Hemsworth appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Wednesday night to briefly talk about wrapping up the next two "Avengers" movies, his daredevil son, and his new movie, "12 Strong".

Thor: Ragnarok arrives digitally in HD, 4K Ultra HD, and Movies Anywhere on February 20, 2018, and 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on March 6, 2018.

The rest of the extras include many behind the scenes footage on the many characters and locations of the film.

Luckily, audiences will be able to catch all three Marvel stars on screen together for the first time in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, out later this spring. The unnamed Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019.
