Salman Khan to debut in China with Bajrangi Bhaijaan


China has become a great box office platform for Bollywood films.

Bollywood star Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan is set for a wide release in China, opening in over 8,000 screens, when it bows March 2 timed with the Chinese Lantern Festival holiday weekend.

This marks Salman's debut in China.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news with a tweet, "Salman Khan debuts in China..." Now, Aamir Khan has an unparalleled fan base in China - we say this because his Dangal set unprecedented records in the country. Eros International in association with China's E Stars Films Ltd to release #BajrangiBhaijaan in China on 2 March 2018... Official poster for the Chinese market, ' he wrote.

Eros is also developing India-China co-productions via its Trinity Pictures banner, with the working titles The Zookeeper, to be directed by Kabir Khan, and Siddharth Anand's cross-cultural romantic comedy Love in Beijing. Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which ranks #3 in Rs 300 crore films (bested by Aamir Khan's Dangal and his own Tiger Zinda Hai) in India will open in over 8000 screens next month. It stars Salman Khan and Harshaali Malhotra, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kareena Kapoor Khan in supporting roles.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan stars Salman as a simple, determined Hanuman devotee who undertakes the hard task of getting a young, mute Pakistani girl back to her motherland and uniting her with her family.

In India, 2015 film Bajrangi Bhaijaan opened to an overwhelming response and went on to break the first week record of PK and Happy New Year.
