Saints WR Coleman ruled out for game against Vikings

Sam Bradford started at quarterback for Minnesota that week, and the Saints' two-headed running back attack consisted of Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson. With little support from his running game, the 38-year-old lit up the Carolina Panthers last week, marking the eighth consecutive game in which he had a passer rating of at least 97. That came a month after the Vikings decided not to pick up an $18 million option on Peterson's contract for 2017. Conversely, Brees has a ton of experience and is one of the best QBs in National Football League history, therefore New Orleans has an overwhelming advantage at the most important position on the field. If the league gave out a surprise player of the year award, Case Keenum would be the runaway victor. Peterson was going to catch passes, Peterson was going to be better in pass protection.

Nobody is talking about the fact that the duo has combined for 1,412 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground this season, plus 524 yards and two touchdowns through the air. That March, thousands of Vikings fans filled an abandoned gravel pit in Savage with tears they had been saving for future calamity, and the state has since unofficially become known as the Land of 10,001 Lakes. Ingram and Kamara both exceeded Peterson's single-season high for receptions (43 in 2009) by a substantial margin. Peterson attempted to downplay the incident, but Payton wasn't about to put up with that from a veteran player when he had two younger and better options.

With all that said the oddsmakers are favoring the Vikings in this one, largely do to their defense which ranked first in total yards and points allowed. He hasn't been able to work his way back into a consistent role since. Eight teams move onto the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs - four from the American Football Conference (AFC) and four from the National Football Conference (NFC). By NFL rule, the Vikings have another week in the 21-day window to practice Bradford before needing to elevate him to the active roster or shut him down. Blair Walsh's shanked short field goal against Seattle was the latest.

"It's going to be a totally different game from the first game because we all jelled together, and we all know what we're doing now", Lattimore said. Keenum hasn't let go of the starting job since, helping get the Vikings to the playoffs by throwing 22 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
