All of Tarantino's past work has been distributed by The Weinstein Company and, well...nobody wants that guy's name stuck on the front of their movie these days, so Quentin has shopped the film around Hollywood.
The idea of Quentin Tarantino making a Pulp Fiction-esque period film set in Hollywood during the time of the Charles Manson murders is a unusual one, and we still have next to no idea what the movie will actually be.
Plot details for the unnamed Manson film are still thin on the ground at this stage, but it's thought to be a 1969-set ensemble flick that in some way details the Manson family murders - which were orchestrated by Charles Manson, one of the most widely-known serial killers of all time. DiCaprio played the main villain of that movie, Calvin Candie. Business Insider contacted DiCaprio and Tarantino's representatives for confirmation but did not get an immediate response. "His sidekick-who's also his stunt double-is looking for the same thing".
The movie, which will be Tarantino's first without Harvey Weinstein's involvement and will be released through Sony Pictures, is said to be similar to Pulp Fiction in that it has multiple interwoven story strands. Evidently though, DiCaprio has landed one of the two major male roles that Tom Cruise was said to be circling at one point. Specifics on the movie are still under wraps, however, the site is reporting that it will not be fully focused on the Manson murders, in which a group of Charles Manson followers entered the home of actress Sharon Tate and murdered her and four other people.More news: Spain's Sainz wins Dakar Rally sixth stage

The untitled film is set for release on August 9, 2019, the 50th anniversary of the Manson murders. Additionally, Tarantino has reportedly also written a supporting role with Al Pacino in mind.
Whatever this movie ends up being, a new Tarantino movie will always be a source of anticipation.
The now untitled Quentin Tarantino Manson movie will open on August 9, 2019.
