James Franco snubbed at Oscars amid sexual harassment claims

The Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Science just snubbed James Franco for an Oscar.

When actress Alison Brie arrived at Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, where she was a nominee for her role in the Netflix wrestling comedy GLOW, the topic of discussion quickly turned to her brother-in-law, James Franco.

Only one Golden Globe victor from this year hasn't been nominated for an Oscar, nominations for which were announced on Tuesday. "James Franco just won", she tweeted.

"He kind of like pushed my head down and was like saying, come on", Paley recalled. "After you had already been caught doing that to a different 17 year old?"

Paley says she dated Franco and the two had a consensual relationship. I mean, I am regretful.

On Tuesday morning, prior to announcement of 2018 Oscar nominations, two of Franco's accusers - Sarah Tither-Kaplan, 26, and Violet Paley, 23 - told ABC News' Amy Robach on Good Morning America that they believe the actor abused his power in Hollywood. "Times up on that!"

"I could have said no, but because of the power dynamic the situation was so surreal", she said.

Tither-Kaplan's complaint comes from a scene she filmed with the actor and director for movie The Long Home in 2015, where she says he removed protective plastic guards covering other actresses' vaginas before continuing to simulate oral sex on them.

"There were a lot of scenes that were added after we were given the original scripts that I felt I wished I had more time to consider them or understand the artistic value of them.sex scenes, nude scenes, yes, a lot of the time they seemed gratuities and exploitative".

Actress Violet Paley said that during a consensual relationship, Franco once pressured her to perform oral sex in a vehicle and that the "power dynamic was really off". "He created exploitative environments for non-celebrity women on his sets and I also think James is a very talented and valuable person", she continued. So if we allow any of them, we allow all of them.

A rep for Franco did not comment other than to say to the women's claims are not accurate.

Tither-Kaplan was a student in Franco's acting class. I will make it. And while it's impossible to know how much the allegations against Franco influenced Oscar voters, this is the best outcome for Me Too and the Academy. I have to." Still, the controversy surrounding the actor has not relented: "Scarlett Johansson even called the actor out over the weekend during her speech at the Women's March in Los Angeles.

But after he won a Golden Globe, five women accused him of inappropriate behaviour, which he disputed.
