Bayern Munich love nothing more than sweeping up all of the talent that belongs to their German rivals and they have picked up one of the best around in Schalke's Leon Goretzka, they'll just have to wait till the summer for him though.

The talented 22-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a switch to Bayern since entering the final year of his Schalke contract.

Leon Goretzka is a highly rated German worldwide now playing for Schalke. The right-footed Goretzka joined Schalke from VfL Bochum in 2013 and has scored 19 goals in 130 games for the Royal Blues.

"Leon Goretzka informed us earlier this week that he wishes to leave the club and join Bayern", Heidel said at a press conference.

Manchester City are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Emre Can in the summer of 2018, according to The Mirror. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told us that Leon has passed his medical. We're losing a very, very good player.

And, the Bundesliga club have come out on top of their pursuit, with Schalke boss Christian Heidel confirming the deal. But we have to accept this decision.

He said: "We are sad and disappointed that we lose Leon as a player and as a human".

"We hope the fans won't show a negative reaction on Sunday".

Schalke are now third in the Bundesliga table and are 14 points behind Bayern Munich who sit on top of the league.
