Forza Horizon 3 rolls out 4K update for Xbox One X

Slowly but surely, the native 4K titles are coming.

In addition to the enhancements for the base game, Microsoft also detailed that Xbox One X support will also extend to the Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels expansions for Forza Horizon 3.

Playground Games has today rolled out Xbox One X Enhanced support for Forza Horizon 3, meaning you can now play the open-world racer in native 4K.

"Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One X is powered by the same state-of-the art ForzaTech engine at the heart of the Forza franchise, also used to develop Forza Motorsport 7 for Xbox One X which brought native 4K resolution racing to the new platform. Reflections are sharper and clearer, environment shadows are crisper and better defined, the quality of motion blur has been increased to make the driving experience significantly smoother, and better anisotropic filtering improves the detail visible in environment textures, particularly on the roads themselves". He said that it only took less than a day after receiving an Xbox One X kit to get the game running in 4K and still had room to spare in terms of the console's power.

Original: Yesterday people on Reddit found that Forza Horizon 3 was showing up on their Xbox One as an Xbox One X enhanced game. Forza Horizon 3 should now load a bit faster, too, thanks to the upgraded CPU and RAM inside the Xbox One X.
