Farmers Give Trump Warm Welcome, Cheer Change to Death Tax


In his first major speech since signing the tax bill into law, President Trump addressed the American Farm Bureau Federation on Monday.

The American Farm Bureau Federation has acknowledged that the latest tax reform bill has provided a number of benefits to U.S. farmers, in comments alongside those of President Donald Trump on the impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

And from now on, most family farms and small businesses will be spared the punishment of the deeply unfair ESTATE TAX, known as the DEATH TAX-so you can keep your FARMS IN THE FAMILY.

The president also took credit for working to roll back the Obama administration's interpretation of the Clean Water Act, which had greatly expanded the list of bodies of water subject to federal regulation.

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to give rural areas access to high-speed broadband network, reports USA Today.

While President Trump's executive order marks the potential to improve access to high-speed internet in rural areas, a budget proposed previous year by his administration called for the elimination of 19 independent agencies including the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), which has dedicated significant resources to expanding broadband infrastructure in Appalachia.

The communications team for the American Farm Bureau Federation is really getting a workout for the organization's 99th annual meeting in Nashville this week with President Donald Trump attending Monday afternoon.

While in previous speeches to other audiences, Trump has discussed killing the North American Free Trade Agreement.

"We are reviewing all of our trade agreements to make sure that they are fair and reciprocal - reciprocal so important", he said.

Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Scott Golden said, "Tennessee Republicans stand with President Trump and his commitment to farmers and rural communities across Tennessee".

Congress has ignored the administration proposals last spring to eliminate premium subsidies for policies that include the harvest price option, to deny premium subsidies to people with more than $500,000 a year in adjusted gross income, and to limit crop insurance subsidies to $40,000 a year. He said that "in every decision we make, we are honouring America's proud farming legacy".

The task force has recommended providing improved internet access, availability of affordable housing and medical services, providing specialized career development and using technology to help farmers support their businesses.

He says both Farm Bureau and Farmers Union members want those hurt by opioids to get the help they need.

"Those towers are going to go up and you are going to have great, great broadband", the president told convention goers.

Trump also said he looks to support an on-time farm bill.

Trump's speech touched on a variety of subjects, including national-anthem protests, Second Amendment rights, the "fake media", and the proposed wall along the US-Mexico border.

According to the White House, one order instructed the Department of the Interior to dedicate assets toward rural broadband installation.
