"I have been reading Swami Vivekananda's teachings since childhood and what I am today is because of his teachings", the chief minister told news agency ANI. Around 5000 volunteers of National Service Scheme and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan from all parts of the country along with local accredited youth will participate in the 5-day Festival.

He said that the character of Swami Vivekananda was an inspiration to the youth and his teachings were contemporary.

The objective of organising the NYF is to provide a platform to bring the youth of the country together in an attempt to provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents in various activities. Modi urged people to work to make Indian villages free from open defecation in next two years by creating awareness at their level.

Mitrananda, who was also the special guest at the function underscored in his lecture the vitality of the youth and the importance given to them by Swami Vivekananda. Banerjee tweeted: " Today is the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Parliamentary Secretary PWD, UD & ULB and Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, Borum ZPM Techi Tolu and several eminent personalities including the members of School Managing Committee and faculty of School were present on the occasion.

With the aim to capitalize on the demographic dividend of young India, the theme of the annual programme, organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is "Sankalp Se Siddhi".
