After winning Best Comedy Series at the 2018 Golden Globes, the streaming service will make The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel available for free starting Friday, January 12 at 12:01 a.m. local time and ending at 11:59 p.m. local time Monday, January 15, according to Variety.
While it's set in a somewhat fizzier version of show-business past with the occasional cameo from real-world comic trailblazer Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby), Mrs. Maisel is a story of female empowerment and friendship that resonates today.
The series is created, written, and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino, the woman who brought you the Gilmore Girls. She also thanked Amazon because "their support was completely unwavering at all times, every check cleared". "Is there cheese backstage?"
Tony Shalhoub (Monk) also stars as Midge's father Abe Weissman, along with Alex Borstein (Family Guy) as Susie Myerson, Michael Zegen (Boardwalk Empire) as Midge's husband Joel Maisel and Marin Hinkle (Two and a Half Men) as Midge's mother Rose Weissman.More news: Thomas Monson, head of Mormon church, dies aged 90

Hollywood bible Variety described its win for best TV comedy series - ahead of Black-ish, Master of None, SMILF and Will & Grace - as a "surprise".
Nicole Kidman was honored with the statuette for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for "Big Little Lies".
Sterling K. Brown, who won for best actor for his role in "This Is Us", similarly seemed distracted before launching into his acceptance speech. The series has been renewed for two-season order by Amazon.
